Capoiera
Capoiera is a Brazilian martial art form that incorporates acrobatic movements, dance, percussion and songs in a rhythmic dialogue of body, mind and spirit. It is a game in which two opponents play each other inside a circle (called a ‘roda’) formed by the other players who create rhythm and energy (‘axe’) by clapping, singing and playing traditional instruments. The two opponents compete with each other using self-defense, kicks and arm movements cleverly disguised in playful acrobatic and dance like moves while simultaneously creating strategies to fool their opponent and catch them off guard. Capoeira is not just improving physical & emotional health but also very well for social integration, multi-cultural experience and music education.
